We at Allstate Moving Company, when ever you are redy to move the following rule applies for Local move.
The minimum cost is 3 hours, plus one hour of travel time.  The meaning of this is that if your move takes 2 ½ hours, you will still be charged for 3 hours, plus one hour of travel time.  If it takes more than 3 hours, you will be charged accordingly, and will be pro-rated by quarter of the hour. In addition to the hourly rate charge, there is always a charge for travel time.  The travel time will always be added to the total amount of hours your move took. 

Please note: Driving time between the origin address to the destination address is considered to be labor time and is part of your "labor hour estimate."  That driving time is not considered to be travel time.
Travel time is the driving time from our company to your location and then back to the office, which is half an hour in each direction.  In real life, it does take more time to drive to your location and back to the office, however, we charge only one hour. (Within the Washington DC metropolitan area)
In addition to the hourly rate, there will always be additional charges for non-reusable wrapping and packing supplies, such as shrink and bubble wrap, mattress and sofa covers, as well as boxes, box sealing tape and crates.  Please keep in mind that all moving companies charge for packing and wrapping supplies.  We have affordable rates, and we charge you only to cover our cost for these materials.  These materials are needed in order to protect your valuables and furniture.  These are the tools that we use to minimize, reduce and avoid any possible damages.
An additional fuel surcharge may be added depending on the diesel price on the day of your move.

Please note:Customers who pay the deposit will receive a refund only if the job is cancelled at least 72 hours prior to their moving date. Customers who cancel their job less than seven business days prior to their move will be charged $100.

Important: Cancellation on the date of your move will incur a charge of three hours of labor plus one hour travel time at your hourly rate.  You will be responsible for taking care of these charges as if you were provided with the services. Unfortunately, last minute cancellations cause our company a loss of income, as we make the spot available to you and decline a moving service application of another customer.
